In 2012, the opening ceremony was held at the Palace of Students of the National University “Yaroslav the Wise Law Academy of Ukraine”. The celebrations were attended by the governor of Kharkov region Mikhail Dobkin, the Kharkov mayor Gennady Kernes, the honorary president of the festival, the French film actress Milen Demonzho.
In addition, the guests of honor attended the ceremony: French cinema star Alain Delon, cinema special effects specialist, Oscar winner, Kharkiv-based Eugene Mamut, director and scriptwriter, People’s Artist of the RSFSR Rodion Nahapetov, animation master, owner of Animagic studio (USA), Irina Borisova and others.
In 2013, at the opening of the V International Festival of Short Films “Kharkiv Lilac”, the “Beautiful Flowers” theater already presented its first short film “Free Comrade”.
